Tanzania tenders construction contracts for 14 court houses

The Judiciary of Tanzania has launched a tender for the construction of 14 integrated justice centres under its Citizen-Centric Judiciary Modernization and Justice Service Delivery Project. The centres are being offered as separate lots in three packages.

Package I: Construction of Integrated Justice Centres in Four Selected Locations of Singida, Simiyu, Geita and Pemba (Four lots)
Package II: Construction of Integrated Justice Centers in Five Selected Locations of Songea, Mtwara, Katavi, Songwe and Njombe (Five lots)
PACKAGE III: Construction of Integrated Justice Centers in Five Selected Locations of Pwani, Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Manyara and Lindi (Five lots)

The broad scope of work is identical for each lot and comprises the construction of:
•    A three or four storey high court building 
•    Guard house(s) 
•    Power house
•    ATM/food court 
•    Service Installations 
•    All associated external works.

All court buildings will have three storeys except for those in Singida, Pembe, Songea and Mtwara which will have four storeys.

The deadline for submitting bids is the 25 August.

Bids are invited from companies registers as Building Contractors Class One. Companies can bid for one or more lots.

The project is being supported with financing from the World Bank.

The three packages are being advertised concurrently and the construction for all 14 lots will be carried out simultaneously.

Contractors should have been in business for a minimum of six years and worked on at least two similar projects with a value of US$3.2 million. Average turnover in the past six years should be US$8 million.

Bids must be delivered to the address above on or before 25th August 2023 at 11h00 local time. Electronic bidding will not be permitted.  

A pre-bid meeting was due to be held on 21 July. Site visits will follow.
