Tanzania seeks consultants for two construction schemes in Dodoma

Tanzania is seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) from consultants for the supervision of two construction schemes in Dodoma under its Higher Education for Economic Transformation Project supported by the World Bank.

The Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) has invited interest from firms to provide consultancy services for a project to build a science, technology and innovation complex in Dodoma.

The scope of services covers the design, preparation of bidding documents, cost estimate and construction supervision. The work will also include geotechnical and topographical surveys, and the conditional survey, design and supervision of the renovation of the COSTECH building in Dar-es-Salaam.

The total duration for the entire assignment is 29 months (4 months design, 13 months mobilisation, construction, and supervision, and 12 months after completion of works for the Defects Liability Period) from the date of contract signing.

The consulting firm should have at least 10 years of experience in the building industry and must have demonstrated experience in undertaking works of a similar nature, including at least one project under the World Bank or development partner funding.

Expressions of interest must be submitted online through TANePs on or before 30 June, 12h00 East African time.

Consultants are also invited to express interest in a second project in Dodoma, involving the construction of a modern academic block for the Institute of Rural Development Planning.

The scope of works entails the provision of consultancy services for design, preparation of bidding documents, cost estimates and construction supervision of a multi-floor eco-friendly modern academic block in the Miyuji area of Dodoma.

The total duration for the assignment is 36 months (6 months for design works, 18 months for construction and supervision, and 12 months for defect liability period) from contract effective date.

Consultants should have experience of at least three projects of the same complexity in the past 10 years.
EOIs must be delivered by 22 June at 12h00 East African time.
