Tanzania seeks consultant for 35km road upgrade
Tanzania’s National Roads Agency has invited expressions of interest (EOIs) to provide consultancy services for the upgrade of a 38km section of the Mkata–Kwamsisi Road to bitumen standard.
The consulting services will be provided over three phases:
Phase I comprises the feasibility study, economic evaluation, preliminary design and preliminary environmental and social impact assessment.
Phase II comprises the detailed engineering design and preparation of bidding documents.
Phase III covers the supervision of construction works and defects notification period.
The contract duration is 48 months.
The Mkata–Kwamsisi section is part of Mkata–Mkalamo Regional Road located in the Tanga Region.
The route follows the existing earth/gravel road traversing through a number of centres including Kibaoni, Kwapala, Kwamkata/Mawe Matatu, Kwedichenje, Pozo and Kwamsisi Township. The road passes through areas with potential economic activities such as agriculture, livestock keeping, forestry, tourism, fishing and business centres.

Interested parties must have experience in similar assignments in the last 10 years. Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications.
EOIs must be delivered in a written form to the address below (in person, or by mail, or by e-mail) on or before 10h00 hours local time on 26th June 2023.
