Rwanda invites EOI for Hydrologist on Independent Dam Panel of Experts
The Rwanda Water Resource Board (RWB) is developing a dam and hydropower plant under the Muvumba Multipurpose Water Resources Development Program which is being financed by the African Development Bank.
A component of the Multipurpose Water Resources Development Program is an Independent Dam Safety Panel of Experts (IDSPE) comprising a Dam Safety and Design Engineer (Chair of the Panel), a Hydrologist and a Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer.
The Rwanda Water Resources Board (RWB), the Executing Agency of the program, is looking to recruit a Hydrologist who will be member of the IDSPE panel.
According to the Notice posted on the African Development Bank website, the scope of the Hydrologist Expert consultancy services includes:
- The Expert will review any study, analysis, designs, design modifications or construction method statements originated either by the contractor or consultant and provide review outputs and recommendations.
- The Expert, along with the panel, will visit the project at regular intervals, observe the ongoing construction and propose solution to any challenge encountered and ensure the activity is in compliance with dam safety measures and precautions.
The duration of the Consultancy Services is for a period of five years from the contract signature date. The Consultant’s contract will be renewable yearly based on satisfactory contract performance.
The consultant will be selected as individual consultant. Procurement (eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure) will be conducted in line with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Policy for Bank Group-Funded Operations dated October 2015.
