Lesotho invites bids for substation upgrade
Lesotho Electricity Company has invited bids without prequalification from contractors to upgrade the Khukhune substation.
The upgrade of the 88/33kV Khukhune substation involves adding two 30MVA transformers and constructing 6km of 132kV transmission line from the Muela hydropower station to link with the 88kV transmission line from South Africa at the substation.
The execution period is 12 months.
The project is being supported with funding from the African Development Bank.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on 10 August at the address below, followed by a site visit on 11 August.
The deadline for submitting bids is 19 September at 12h00.
