Lesotho invites Bids for Khukhune Substation Upgrade works

The Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) has advertised an Invitation For Bids, for the execution of works on the Khukhune Substation Upgrade project in Butha-Buthe.

According to the Tender Notice posted on the African Development Bank website, the scope of work is:

  1. Design and construct a 6km,132KV double circuit line on lattice towers, on  a rugged terrain of mostly rocky ground, to a new GIS 132/88KV substation. Commission and hand over the works to LEC at the end;
  2. Design and construct a new 132/88 KV GIS Khukhune substation to connect to the existing 88/33KV Khukhune substation infrastructure, with all associated equipment required to make this new substation functional. Commission and hand over the works to LEC at the end.

Bidding will be conducted according to the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Goods or Procurement of Works.

There will be a compulsory virtual pre-bid meeting at 09:00 hours on 1st June 2021, followed by a compulsory virtual site visit at 11:00 hours on the same day.

Closing date for the submission of tenders is 29 July 2021 at 12.00 hours local time. Bids will be opened on the same day (29 July 2021) at 13.00 hours local time.
