Consulting Services Tender advertised for Construction of Control Centres in Cote D'Ivoire

The German Development Bank, KfW, has advertised an invitation to tender for engineering, design and construction supervision of:

a) the construction and equipment of three (3) Regional Control Centres (CCRT) in the cities of Abidjan, Bouaké and Man;

b) physical separation of Transmission (HVB) and Distribution (HV) equipment in substations; and

c) the deployment of optical fibres on power transmission lines to extend and strengthen the existing telecommunications network.

Within the framework of German Financial Cooperation with Côte d'Ivoire, through the KfW Development Bank, the German government is supporting a project that aims to contribute to the improvement of Côte d'Ivoire's electricity sector and to ensure its energy security in a sustainable manner in order to provide the population with quality energy at a lower cost.

Côte d'Ivoire has started with the implementation of an "Automation and Telecontrol Master Plan".

For the transmission network the plan provides for the establishment of two national control centres, three regional control centres, the extension of the fibre optic telecommunications network and the HV/HVA separation in substations by setting up separate RTUs.

The construction of the first national control centre is under way in Yamoussoukro.

According to the Tender Notice posted on the KfW Development Bank website, the objective of the Consultant's mission under this contract is to provide its expertise in engineering, design and construction supervision to the Project Owner to ensure the efficient implementation of a) the construction and equipment of three (3) Regional Control Centres (CCRT) in the cities of Abidjan, Bouaké and Man; b) physical separation of Transmission (HVB) and Distribution (HV) equipment in substations, and c) the deployment of optical fibres on power transmission lines to extend and strengthen the existing telecommunications network.
