
Consultants sought for groundwater study
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development - Djibouti is inviting expressions of interest from consultants to perform a feasibility study on The Juba-Shabeele Transboundary Aquifer, a partly confined aquifer system shared by Ethiopia and Somalia.
The task of the consultant is to set up guidelines for groundwater exploration, management, and protection and provide detailed plans to develop water-related infrastructure for socio-economic development including preliminary cost estimates and an assessment of the associated environmental and social safeguards risks and mitigation measures.
The project is supported by funding from the World Bank.
The assignment is expected to last six months, commencing December 2023.
The consulting firm must have completed at least two similar projects involving groundwater assessment, groundwater monitoring programme design and annual groundwater monitoring report preparation in the past 10 years as lead consultant.
Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications.
