Bids invited for Gambia water project
Gambia’s National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) is inviting bids for the design, supply, and installation of the Gunjur water treatment plant and boreholes, and the rehabilitation of water storage tanks.
The project is divided into two lots as follows:
Lot 1: Rehabilitation of Banjul and Brikama storage tanks involving:
Construction of the two new water towers
Demolishment of the existing water towers
Pipework, including valve chamber and water meters
Site works
Lot 2: Design, supply, and installation of Gunjur water treatment plant and new boreholes involving:
Drilling of a new borehole (G03), assembling the components, and the plot works
Connect existing borehole E13 and new borehole G03 to the new transport main to treatment plant in Gunjur.
New transport main approximately 7km PVC250 to Gunjur treatment plant
Replacement of chlorine dosing pumps
Power supply and control panel
The following works should be conducted related to Brikama treatment plant
Drilling of a new borehole (Kasssa Kunde), assembling the components, and the plot works
New transport main approximately 2.8km PVC250 to connect new borehole to Brikama treatment plant
Power supply, control panel, and telemetry
Bidders must have completed two similar contracts within the last five years, each with a value of at least:
Lot 1: US$ 1,200,000
Lot 2: US$ 900,000
The International Development Association, the European Investment Bank, and the European Union are funding the project.

Sealed bids must be physically delivered to the address provided below by 12h00 (Gambia time) on 29 September 2023. Electronic submissions will not be accepted.
