September 7th, 2020
The Kano state government has terminated the contract for construction of the Dawakin-Tofa 5km dual carriage road and re-awarded the contract to CCECC Nigeria Limited.

The contract for the construction of the Dawakin-Tofa 5km dual carriage road had previously been awarded to a local company, Rocad Construction Nigeria Limited, in 2012, with Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority Authority (KNUPDA) as supervising agency. However, according to the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, Rocad Construction had abandoned the project midway into the construction process. The state government therefore terminated the contract with Rocad Construction and re-awarded the contract to CCECC Nigeria Limited at a cost of N651.8 million (US$1.69 million).
