The 120MW Imboulou dam will be revamped.
Madagascar’s Axian Energy and Switzerland’s Hydro Operation International have signed a 30-year concession agreement for the rehabilitation and operation of the 120MW Imboulou dam in the Republic of Congo.
Axian Group made the announcement on social media on 27 July without providing further details.
The US$373 million Imboulou hydropower plant, located on the Lefini River north of the capital Brazzaville, was inaugurated in 2011. It was constructed by China National Machinery & Equipment Import & Export Corporation and funded by loans from China.
