China's CEEC to build 500MW solar plant in Uganda
Chinese state-owned energy conglomerate, China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC), is planning to invest US$500 million in the construction of a 500MW solar photovoltaic (PV) complex at an unspecified location in Uganda.
CEEC has signed a US$500 million framework agreement with China Gezhouba International Company in February for financing and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) related to the project. The EPC scope of work covers designing, procuring, constructing and performing trials for the project, which would be developed in two phases.
