Overcoming Logistics Challenges in Africa's Construction Industry

Construction project delivery across Africa is often shaped by logistics challenges that go far beyond moving materials from one point to another. Delays in material availability, fragmented supply chains, transport bottlenecks, workforce capacity gaps, and weak project coordination can all affect cost, timelines, and overall project performance. In this edition of ConstructAfrica’s Building a Better and Sustainable Africa webinar series, we will explore practical strategies for overcoming logistics challenges in Africa’s construction industry. The discussion will look at how to build a logistics-ready workforce, strengthen supply chains and local material availability, improve transportation systems and delivery reliability, and use technology and modern project management practices to drive efficiency across the project lifecycle. Bringing together industry leaders from across infrastructure, logistics, procurement, training and technology, the webinar will offer practical insights into how the sector can improve project delivery outcomes in increasingly complex operating environments.
